A @Christadelphians Video: Swansea
Description: This interesting talk explains how the doctrine of the trinity was formed. Catholic commentators agree that it was not taught by the apostles, and that it evolved into mainstream Christian doctrine following the Nicean conference, and was later clarified in the Athanasian Creed. Scripture is clear that there is one uncreated God, that Jesus is his son, who now sits on his right hand doing his will. An understanding which does not undermine the infinite majesty and glory of the father.

What question does this video answer?
We, as Christadelphians, ask: Is God one or three? Did the Trinity come from the Bible, or from later creeds? What did Jesus really claim? This video answers with Scripture, history and clarity.
We show that the Bible teaches one God, the Father, and Jesus as His Son—the Son of God and Son of Man. The word “Son of God” occurs 47 times in the New Testament; “God the Son” never occurs. The Trinity is not drawn directly from Scripture. The Apostles’ Creed calls Jesus God’s only Son; the Nicene and Athanasian Creeds later moved to “true God from true God”. The Dean of St Paul’s admitted Paul would not have understood Trinitarian formulas, and Encyclopaedia Britannica says the dogma was formed through centuries of effort and Greek/Roman metaphysics.
Jesus said, “I and my Father are one”, yet also “My Father is greater than I”. After His resurrection He spoke of “my God and your God”. At the end of the thousand-year kingdom, the Son will be subject to God, so God may be all in all. This is not Trinitarian language. Jesus perfectly revealed the Father’s character—full of grace and truth—and we can be one with God as He was one with His Father. Watch to test every teaching by the Word of God.
