Class #10 Identifying The Beast (Part 1)

The Dragon, the Beast, and the False Prophet are the entities whose teachings will bring the nations down to the battle of Armageddon. Class #10 begins our look at the metamorphosis of the Beast throughout the book of Revelation. These are the animated, detailed phases of Daniel's 4th Beast. The Great Red Dragon of Revelation Chapter 12, represents the Pagan Roman Empire, the first phase.
The Beast of the Sea, of Revelation Chapter 13, represents the Christian Roman Empire, the second phase. The saints, who were persecuted by the Christian Roman Empire, prayed for deliverance. It was upon the Beast of the Sea God would unleash "the trumpet judgments." We consider the first four trumpet judgments in detail in this class. Ultimately, they put an end to the Christian Roman Empire.
The Beast of the Earth, of Revelation Chapter 13, represents the Holy Roman Empire, the third phase. We consider its rise to power and development. During the 1000 year reign of this system, the saints witnessed against it and suffered persecution. Again, they prayed for deliverance. God poured out "the vial judgments" as a result of their prayers. During this class, we consider the pouring out of the vial judgments during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars.
The consideration of this broad swipe of history compels us to think about the witness of former generations and compare our efforts today.
