Russia is definitely preparing for something. These snap military drills are being conducted without any prior warning to NATO. They are supposed to let NATO know when these war games happen but Russia is using some technicality in the small print of signed agreement to get out of informing them. Russia has been stoking conflict in Ukraine and conducting these unannounced military drills in recent weeks. NATO is extremely unhappy about all this. Russia however has dismissed these concerns and points to NATO drills on the Russian border as justification for the continued, massive military movements inside the Russian Federation.
