Syrian Russian provocations could spark Golan clash

The
war in Syria creeps ever closer to Israel’s borders. President Assad of Syria
has a world super power [Russia] in effect supporting him and literally
providing him with air cover and defence systems. This is allowing Syria to
conduct militarily operations right up to Israel’s border in the Golan when
normally they would not risk Israel’s ire.
What
we know must happen is that Israel will get drawn into the Syrian conflict.
Isaiah 17 clearly talks about the fall of Syria and destruction of Damascus.
But it also says that at the same time northern Israel (Ephraim) will be
weakened. Why would northern Israel be weakened when Damascus is destroyed? It
can only be because somehow Israel is drawn into that conflict. Events this
week show how close this could be.
